Ghost (1990)
This shows that roughly the same amount of women as men under the age of 18 reviewed this movie and therefore I should target my teaser trailer to both genders who are below the age of 18. This is a surprise because I thought that this movie was more of a chick flick rather than a movie which is generalised for everyone. I will definitely take this into account when I have to think about who I'm going to target this to and who I cast because targeting the teaser trailer to the right people is the most vital part because if I don't market it properly it won't be a very good teaser trailer.
P.S. I Love You (2007)
This is a similar movie to Ghost (1990) but was just made 17 years later and the reviews for males and females under the age of 18 is a lot more different to the ones we see in Ghost. This shows that more women are more likely to watch these kinds of movies because of the content that is in them. What I mean is that it might not interest the male population as much as the female population because more movies which are better financed in terms of special effects have come out and therefore peoples expectations of good films and adventure films have gone up. After looking at this, I think that I will primarily target my teaser trailer to females because this is more of a modern film and it applies more than the movie Ghost.
However, this target market research isn't very reliable as it only represents a small percentage of the target market. The target market for the people who have reviewed this on IMDB will be people who constantly go on IMDB and this therefore cuts down the amount of reliability as it represents only a small demographic of people.
remember these figures are only representative of the people who read and respond to imdb.
