The soundtrack for this movie will be small as it is only going to be a 30 second teaser trailer. However, I still want music in my teaser trailer so that it is more smooth and that it will attract my target market.
The music which I have decided to use will be guitar music because the target market which I have got enjoy playing, or listening to, acoustic guitar music. I know this because of other pieces of research I have found on the internet. I will also use acoustic guitar music as I can make the music myself by writing music on my guitar. This will not be used from anywhere else and therefore will be copyright free. This is a major advantage because I don't have to write any emails asking whether I can use somebody else's music in my teaser trailer. However, this can be seen as a disadvantage because I will need recording equipment and a studio to do this which is very time consuming and therefore will be difficult to complete in the time that we have to spend on our practical production.
If I do need to use any other pieces of music in my teaser trailer which I cannot make on my guitar, I will have to look back on the post I made about copyright music and read what the laws are about using somebody else's music in my work. I will most likely have to email the company/individual about using their music in my teaser trailer and the evidence the email that I will receive from them explaining that I can use their music in my practical production. This is an advantage because I don't have to make much music on my guitar and the have the time to use specialised recording equipment and then a studio to do this in. However, this can be a major disadvantage because it will be time consuming waiting for a reply from the person I need to borrow the music from.
