Casting for my production

The cast which I have decided to use will be actors who are of the target audience age so that my target audience can relate to them on a better level. I thought of doing this because not only can my target audience relate to the actors on a better level, but I can also find who I want to act in my teaser trailer a lot easier as I don't know any other people who are older than 25 to act in my practical production.

I have decided to use Amy Patterson as the female lead who is saddened by the loss of the dead boyfriend. I have picked Amy to act as the female lead because she is 17 and therefore will address the target audience in a better way because she is about the same age, she has a history of drama and therefore I know that she will be good at acting and, if I need to, I can make her look older by adding make up to establish this. I think my target audience will be able to relate to Amy in a positive way because she matches the conventions of the character which I need her to be. I could test this out before by doing casting sessions and finding out what she can do before I straight away get her to act in my teaser trailer for me. In conclusion, I will most likely be using Amy to act this role because I know that my target market will enjoy her acting.

For the 'medium' character I will be using Jenni Dack. I have decided this because she is older than Amy and therefore she will be better suited for this character. Also, she has studied drama in the past and therefore will be reliable in terms of acting. I think that my target audience will like her as this character because she is a good actress and is of similar age to my target audience and therefore will be able to relate to my target audience on a more personal level. Also, I can me Jenni look older by adding more make up and using costumes which will make her look older. Before I completely cast Jenni as this character, I will do some acting sessions with the other actors so that I can see what all of my actors are like together. In conclusion, I will most likely be using Jenni as this character because I know that she can act well and she will match the conventions of this character very well. 

For my male lead I am still deciding between two people. The male actors who I am deciding on whether to use for acting are Kieran Corder and Joe Cracknell. They are both roughly the same age as my target market and therefore will be able to interact with the target market on a better level. Thinking more into it, I will most likely use Joe as my male lead because he has a history of drama and I have seen him inn a drama performance and I know that he can act well. Also, he will be more reliable when I need him for filming. I think my target audience will like Joe as the male lead because he can act and he has a lot of chemistry with the female lead, Amy. If I don't establish the chemistry between the male and female lead my target market will not like the teaser trailer because they will find it awkward between the two actors. This will be good for me because it means I have addressed my target market a lot better and made it more emotional.
